Lancôme's "Magic Black" eau de toilette
Everything in the "Black Magic" fragrance calls for esotericism, occult science, and spells. Its complex structure makes it a dry and spicy fragrance, invasive, persistent. Lancôme defines "Black Magic" as "the most oriental oriental", with its notes both oriental of course, but also chypre, woody and smoke. Reformulated in 2007, the eau de toilette is now more fruity and fresh, but still enchanting. The original round, black and brown bottle evokes a woman's bare shoulders with great delicacy, its opacity invites mystery, the discovery of the secrets it contains. The bottle of the new version, transparent and rectangular with the silver stopper, wants to be simpler and stands out less, it is more chic and sober.

Composition of the fragrance "Magie Noire" by Lancôme
"Black Magic" is structured around a key ingredient: the Bulgarian rose, which one discovers in his heart. We first perceive its notes of head of blackcurrant bud, a novelty for the time that gives it a touch sought and unusual, associated with galbanum, all giving an entry in very green and fresh. Then the heart finally unveils the famous Bulgarian rose followed by the accord of incense and myrrh, sensual and stunning. The heart is rather flowered with jasmine, ylang-ylang and narcissus, for a refreshing bouquet. The cascarilla adds a peppered note to the heart notes to the complex structure. The background notes are much more woody and smoky, with sandalwood, warm amber mixed with leather notes of castoreum. Animal notes of patchouli complete this heady and velvety background that unveils the magic of this "Black Magic".
