Heeled shoes are often regarded as a true symbol of femininity and "sexy attitude" . Only here we are not all like Carrie Bradshaw (the heroine of Sex and the City), expert of high heels. And we do not necessarily bear all to wear, a full day, heels of 12 cm. So we asked a coach in his heels (yes, that exists!) To reveal his tricks to never again suffer in his pair of pumps. Follow the guide.

1 - Choose stable and comfortable heels

All heeled shoes are not made for everyone. In order to choose the pair, one must first be aware of its maximum height , that is, the height limit of the heels that our feet and ankles can endure. To know it, you only have to walk a few feet barefoot on the tip of the feet to see how far our heels can climb: as soon as the knees begin to bend , we reached our maximum height. For beginners, it is best to start with a half-cylinder heel (more stable than the needle heel) 6 to 8 cm high.

When purchasing a new pair of shoes, one checks its stability and one tracks the least defect:
- The heel must be well implanted on the platform and perpendicular to the ground. If this is not the case, the shoe may pull on the ankle and weaken it.
- To know if the heel is stable, the shoe is thrown about ten centimeters (gently, obviously) . If she falls back on herself, it is because the heel is stable. The thicker it is, the more logically it is.

The golden rule: adapt the shoe (stiletto, sandal, whatever) to its foot, and not the other way around.

2 - Alternate heights and models of heeled shoes

To avoid too much suffering his feet, we alternateheights of heels and model of shoes. If you go out one evening with long heels and 12 cm long, the next day, you will build on a smaller heel, thicker: essential to rest the foot, soles of the feet , ankle and heel. For the latter are put to the test when wearing heels a little high. Attention, a needle heel should be worn only occasionally: medically speaking, it is suitable for any morphology . All the weight of the body rests on the front of the foot which fatigues much more quickly the feet and ankles.

3 - Muscle ankles and toes

Yes, the ankles also muscle. And when they are well muscled, one tones his posture and one holds better on a pair of shoes with heels. In short, it is essential to avoid twisting the ankles in all directions.

Some exercises to do to muscle his ankles (twice a week for 5 minutes):
- We go round and round on tiptoe to make calves and ankles.
- We make bearings with his feet: sitting or standing, we draw a circle with the tip of his feet in order to rotate his ankle. To be done in both directions, one foot after the other.

4 - Try special heels accessories and provide a first aid kit in her handbag

Non-slip soles, tights that contain special heel pad pads, gel pads to slide in his pair of pumps ... there are many products to alleviate heel pain . Their effects are debatable from one person to another, which is why it is better to test them to make his own opinion. In all logic, they are chosen according to their problem: special front pads of the shoe if one has pain under the front of the foot, rear pads if one has a bad heel, a non-slip sole if one tends to sweat many feet ... To test also: the famous technique of talc . To delay sweating and protect the foot from rubbing with the shoe, dust the inside with a little talcum powder. Like gymnasts who put talc on their hands before testing the asymmetric bars or rings for example. It's simple and it works.

If you have room, you can take with you a pair of ballerinas or sneakers to remove his shoes with heels when the pain becomes too intense. But having the medical kit to react in case of small bobos is already good. In prevention, it is possible to stick dressings on the parts that rub most, generally on the back and side of the feet. We must protect our feet from the pain especially if we count to hog each other night on the dancefloor with a pair of Louboutin!

5 - Take care of your feet daily

Many of us neglect that part of the body that is the feet, yet they are the ones who bear the weight of our body all day long . Once a week or after a day spent in heels, one relaxes his feet by giving a foot bath with warm water and coarse salt. Then they are massaged with the thumb to relax the muscles sore by the high heels. You can also use a tennis ball that you spend a few minutes under your feet. Guaranteed relaxing effect.
