Hermes, perfumes that tell a story

Each Hermès perfume evokes a striking encounter, places or even objects specific to the Hermès house. It was in 1951 that the first perfume Hermes was born, the meeting of Émile Hermès with Edmond Roudnitska, one of the greatest perfumers of the time. This perfume, called "L'Eau d'Hermès", is inspired by the themes of upholstery and leather. This fragrance reminiscent of the sweet smell of soft leather combined with woody and spicy notes. "L'Eau d'Hermès" gave birth to the famous classic bottle Hermès: a bottle of square section and rounded with a semi-spherical stopper. This bottle was then re-used for other perfumes such as "Eau de Cologne" in 1953, "Eau d'Orange Verte" in 1978 or "Un jardin en Méditerranée" in 2003. "L'Eau d'Hermès" is the subject of numbered editions in crystal and hand engraved from 1993 to 2003. Each year, a motif illustrated the theme of the year Hermès. Beginning in the 1960s, Hermès perfumes were experiencing a new dynamic thanks to the meeting of Jean-René Guerrand, son-in-law of Émile Hermès, and perfumer Guy Robert. From this collaboration were born the perfumes "Calèche" in 1961 and "Crew" in 1970. The names of these perfumes are a reminder to the equestrian world dear to the Hermès house.

Jean-Claude Ellena, the nose of Hermes since 2004

In 2004, Jean-Claude Ellena became an exclusive perfumer of the Hermès company. He is responsible for the olfactory creation. It is at the origin of many timeless perfumes such as "Terre d'Hermès" ranked 5th most sold perfume in 2006. This scent with both woody and fruity aromas offers notes of cardamom, lemon, spicy notes or still floral. He also owes him "Journey of Hermes". If this fragrance with woody notes, fresh and musky invites to an imaginary journey, it also plays on paradoxes since it addresses both women and men. But this perfume also intrigues by its bottle imagined by Philippe Mouquet. It is a sliding caliper whose point of attachment is the nail of saddle of Hermès.

The cult collections of Hermes ...

If each of Hermes' perfumes is a famous creation, the house has also succeeded in imposing itself with its collections such as "Hermessence". This collection with various creations offers to each, men or women, fragrances that correspond to them. The collection "Hermessence" invites you to a true poetic journey in several chapters: from "Rose Ikebana" to "Epice Marine". The Maison Hermès also knew how to assert its notoriety with the collection of "Colognes". The "Colognes" of Hermès are addressed to both women and men and testify to a skilful blend between artistic sensitivity and artisanal know-how. The collection was launched by the legendary "Eau d'Orange Verte".
