In France, 400,000 bicycles are stolen each year *. A fatality ? Not really. We take stock of the existing solutions to keep on riding a bicycle with a light spirit.

How to fix your anti-theft?

This is a golden rule to apply. If you do not want to get stolen from your bike, you systematically tie his biclou, even if it's just to buy a baguette. Then, it is carefully attached: 90% of the flights take place when the bike is badly attached. The right method? The anti-theft device is attached to a fixed point, if possible more than 50 cm from the ground, so that the thief can be spotted more quickly, and the frame is connected to the wheels.

What is the anti-theft device for my bike?

We forget the chains with links of less than 5 mm and the twists. We place on the U ranked with a resistance level higher than 10 ("Abus Granit plus 470", level 12, env.75 € on cyclable.com). Fear not to have enough slack? We choose a U with suitable cable ("Kryptonite Evolution series 4" cable "KryptoFlex 1007", 59 € on amazon.fr). And for the saddle? There are seatposts with integrated anti-theft device (Interlock, approx. 60 €) or specific locking pins (Lock n'Roll, Zefal, from 10 €).

For added safety, you can personalize your 2 wheels. The engraving does not avoid theft but allows the bike to be returned to its owner (more than one third of the stolen bikes are found *). The marking must be done in an authorized center: bicycode.org, between 5 and 10 € the operation.
