Reese Witherspoon thinks her daughter will find it "hard" leaving home.
The 41-year-old actress has a close bond with her 17-year-old daughter Ava - who she has with her former partner Ryan Phillippe - and has described her child as her "best friend", but the 'Big Little Lies' star thinks her offspring will struggle to leave home for university next year.
Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight' about Ava, the blonde-haired beauty - who also has four-year-old son Tennessee and Deacon, 13 - said: "She's my best friend and we do everything together, it's going to be hard for her to leave! But I have another year."
The Louisiana-born star can't comprehend Ava will be turning 18 on September 9, and when the thought crosses her mind that her daughter is fast approaching the milestone she starts crying.
She continued: "I alternate between crying and feeling really proud of the woman she's become.
"It's so weird. I can't believe she's [going to be] 18. She's great, and we did it together. I feel like we grew up together, it's great."
Meanwhile, Reese recently made a cameo appearance in 'The Mindy Project', and the star has admitted she was "happy" to be part of the production because her and comedian Mindy Kaling are "dear friends".
Speaking about her latest acting role, Reese said: "I did a little cameo on 'Mindy', we'll see what happens. It was really fun. Mindy's a great dear friend of mine for many years, so I was happy to be there in her last season."
Reese is also set to star in the romantic comedy 'Home Again' alongside Michael Sheen.
And the Hollywood star has admitted working with director Hallie Meyers-Shyer and her mother Nancy Meyers was "really fun".
She explained: "They were a great team. I've never worked with a mother-daughter team before, so this was really a first for me and it was really fun and nice to see those family dynamics.
"[They're] such a nice family. They've come up in this business together and it's nice to see them [working together]."
